Your privacy matters. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run the game, we never sell your data, and payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal — we never see your card number.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, the display name and @name you choose, and, if you sign in with Google, basic profile info Google shares (name, email, avatar).
- Gameplay & profile — your predictions, ratings, achievements, faction membership, chat messages, cosmetics, and other activity you create in the game.
- Device & log data — IP address, browser/device type, and basic technical logs, used to run the Service, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.
- Subscription data — if you buy a Sky Pass, our payment processors (Stripe and PayPal) handle your payment. We never receive or store your full card number. We receive limited billing status (e.g., that a subscription is active, its period end, and processor reference IDs).
- Email preferences — your choices about which lifecycle emails to receive.
2. How we use information
We use your information to:
- operate, maintain, and improve the Service and your account;
- run the game — your identity, ratings, factions, wars, and social features;
- provision and manage Sky Pass subscriptions and process payments through our processors;
- send transactional and (with your consent) lifecycle emails, which you can unsubscribe from at any time;
- keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records (for example, payment and tax records) as required by law.
6. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You can update your profile and email preferences in the app, unsubscribe from lifecycle emails at any time, and request account deletion. To exercise your rights, email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
7. Children
Papermarket is not directed to and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
Papermarket is operated from, and processes data in, the United States and other countries where our providers operate. If you use the Service from outside these countries, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in them, which may have different data-protection laws, and we take steps to protect it as required by law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
